About One Tree Planted
One Tree Planted started in 2014, and since then, has more than doubled the number of trees planted each year. Just last year, in 2018, they planted 1,300,000 trees! One Tree Planted works with reforestation partners in North America, South America, Asia, and Africa. The donations that are collected from wonderful people like you go towards areas that have suffered from fires and floods, help create jobs, and increase the biodiversity of habitats worldwide.
How It Works
When you donate on the One Tree Planted website (or buy any of our products), the organization pools the donations which are then sent to their reforestation partners who grow the saplings. The partners then typically plant the trees during the rainy season, and are properly maintained and monitored to ensure a tree survival rate of 80-90%! They don’t stop there, One Tree Planted also sends out a report that highlights the impact of the trees you planted, and include photos of the newly planted trees.
